Seniors First Executive DirectorJamee Horning is honored to announce the receipt of $15,000 from Sierra Health Foundation, an independent foundation committed to supporting health-related initiatives in Northern California.
“This grant will allow us to expand the MyMeals program to serve seniors outside of our current routes in Auburn and Lincoln,” commented Horning. “With this funding, we are now able to look at establishing routes in Rocklin, Roseville, Granite Bay and beyond,” she added.

MyMeals is a subscription-based meal delivery program designed to provide seniors with home-delivered hot meals and daily social interaction.   Hot meals are prepared fresh daily in accordance with nutritional guidelines for seniors and delivered to the door Monday through Friday (with the exception of holidays) by friendly visitors.

We offer regular service to those seniors who are homebound, as well as short term services for those recuperating from recent illness, hospitalization or convalescent care. Seniors with limited income may qualify for subsidized services.

Whether an individual has difficulty preparing meals, is homebound, recuperating from illness or just prefers not to cook, MyMeals is a convenient, healthy meal option.

With this significant funding, 2,175 additional meals will be served in 2017, bringing the total to over 11,000.
