Overview of Funding

Seniors First if a non profit (501c3), charitable organization. As a charitable organization, Seniors First does not charge seniors and their families for any of the services they receive. Instead, Seniors First chooses to seeks funding thru other avenues. One such "avenue" is a grant from Area 4 Agency on Aging (A4AA).

Under the Older Americans Act, each state is required to provide Information and Assistance to those individuals 60 years and older. Seniors First provides this service to the residents of Placer County, tracking valuable demographics and reporting, on a monthly basis, back to A4AA so they can report back to the California Department of Aging.

Area 4 Agency on Aging provides a grant for approximately 50% of the funds needed to run this valuable program and we are very grateful to the Area 4 Agency on Aging for these funds.

The fact of the matter is Seniors First needs financial assistance from donors in order to continue providing the services they provide to the community. More than 70% of Americans contribute to the nonprofit groups of their choice throughout their lifetimes. Only around 6% continue this support through a gift in their will or estate plan. By making “planned gifts,” a donor can continue to help organizations that are making an important difference in their community.
